Q: Will “Hammer” use Socket A technology?
A: AMD’s existing line of AMD Athlon™ and AMD Duron™ microprocessors use Socket A technology. With the implementation of the “Hammer” architecture in AMD’s future line of microprocessors, a new socket will be required. Additional information about this new high-performance socket will be announced in the future.
