Default Re: GA-EP45-UD3P + Q9550 + G.SKILL 2x2GB F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK - Need Stable Settings Ple

EDIT: Just saw the date of this post after I wrote the below. Will post anyway, may help someone in the future.

I have the same board, BIOS and RAM coupled with an E8400 (see sig for full specs). The UD3P will have XMP (eXtreme Memory Profile) on by default and should see the 5-5-5-15 settings automatically like my board did. If for whatever reason it doesn't, set them manually. My RAM was just fine at 1.8v on the first few boots (even insalling windows) at the default 800mhz but I eventually set it to 2.0 and then 2.1 as I overclocked my rig. The rest of the voltage settings under DRAM should be good on Auto, even if you overclock. Unless you plan to do a 1:1 FSB->RAM ratio then you'll need to use the dividers in the bios to get as close to 1066 as you can. The BIOS will show you what the new value will be immediately after you select it, pretty handy.

For further timings, try to get the tRD (Static tRead Value in BIOS) as low as you can. If your FSB is less than 500 then shoot for 7 or 8. If it's higher than 500, than 9 or 10.
