Did you look at my link? There are people running thei Core i7 at 4.1+Ghz with a RAM speed of just 600MHz or only slightly more.
If you think higher speed RAM will get you more performance, then by all means get it. But it will not help you achieve a higher overclock.

Although I've been known to stick my foot into my mouth a time or two I think you've done the best job I've seen in awhile. Let me give you a pointer or two. I'm not the best writer either but you missed a few of the finer points in your mastery of the english language. The word your is used in a sentence such as: "Your car is ugly". If you used the contraction "you're" - meaning "you are" then the title would make a bit more sense if the word "and" was changed to "an". However, as wayout44 pointed out in another of your posts the information you mention is also incorrect as DDR means double data rate not triple data rate.

Yikes Thats up front. I dont think Nickel deserves that sort of statment. He has help many people out on this forum. Perhaps a PM to him to point out his mistake (if any) would have been more appropreit.

Nice take down (he deserved it - I think) and Nickel020 seems a genuinely helpful fellow; But, I've gotta (slang for have got to) stop you there. DDR, the last I checked means dual (or double) density ram. DDR2 doubles the frequency of that, and DDR3? Well... It boggles the mind. :) ... and, in the event that I'm wrong - I'd appreciated being corrected (by someone who actually knows).

The differences are primarily in clock speed (faster) and voltage (lower). The "2" and "3" are different generations of the same technology.
