In setting up my Z68 Extreme7 Gen3 build, I am using two Intel SSD's in a mirrored configuration for the Windows7 Pro 64bit system disk. I have no floppy disk on the rig.
Before installing Win7 Pro, I entered the BIOS setup and set the SATA to RAID mode. On reboot, I entered the setup utililty via Ctrl-I and configured the mirrored RAIDset with the two member SSD's.
During Win7 install, I used the F6 option to load the SATA3 driver on the CD.
Reading the description of creating a floppy disk and using it during the Windows install for RAID installations makes me think I missed something.
Two questions:
(1) Is the floppy-loaded driver necesssary for the mirrored configuration I've described ?
(2) If I elect to configure other SATA disks in a RAID 10 configuration for storing ordinary data, do I need the floppy-loaded driver ?
Thanks in advance for anyone's thoughts !
