try different usb port in the back panel
I am on Bios 1.3 and wish to update to the new 2.1. This bios is only available in instant flash format so i have copied it to a usb stick, and tried the instant flash option, but it displays a box with the following message - []
I have formated the usb stick in fat 16 and 32, and used a few different ones. Does anybody know the solution ?, ive searched around the web, and it sounds like a few people have this issue but i cant find any suggestions on how to solve it.
try different usb port in the back panel
Ive already tried that but it makes no difference.
Is it possible to flash the bios any other way ?, like a DOS program ?.
Are you planning to switch for an Ivy Bridge CPU?
In a few months i am yeah. So there is no rush i suppose.
Easiest way I've found to use INSTANT FLASH is to create a small 10MB partition and format with simple FAT file system. Then copy bios ROM file to the root of that partition. As soon as you select Instant Flash from within the bios settings the system automatically searches and finds the ROM file.
I used this method as I was unable to get F6 to work from the bios boot screen when a USB flash drive was connected.
Remember it must be formatted as FAT and NOT NTFS.![]()
