Can't Get my GSkill Trident X @2400 on AsRock Z77 Extreme 4

I have the same board but an i5 3570k and was looking at the same ram but discovered as parsec stated it would be a no go. I finally decided to go with these:

It seems the keys for memory compatibility for the Extreme4 is only use a 2 stick kit and 1.5v (for stock voltage).

It depends on the memory too, I wish I understood all the factors that matter. It likely depends on the memory chips used in each model, and even if we could ID them, we couldn't fix anything if the chips were the limiting factor.

I'm running that crazy new Samsung memory on my Extreme 4, 16 GB, 4 x 4GB DIMMs. I have them at 2000, 10 11 11 28 1T, at 1.35V (yes, 1.35V.) I became side tracked with the crazy low voltage that I haven't tried increasing the speed yet, while I am making sure it is stable at 1.35V.

D-Proto, Ivy Bridge CPUs run hot so you need all the cooling you can get. They don't use a lot of power, even when OC'd, but if you have high end video cards, they could be limiting the power available from your PS. What PS are you using?

My point is 16GB or 4 DIMMs is possible on this board, but memory has so many unknowns it's difficult to generalize about it.

I tried it raw with Auto Voltage, didn't work, and i tried 1.7 DRam Voltage, didn't work either.

Originally to get it to run all i changed was the dram voltage to 1.695 the vtt 1.020 the vccsa to 1.016 and put it on the xmp profile#2. i have managed to get them to 2600 with a 5ghz cpu for bench. But i am currently using them voltages @ 2400mhz 10 11 11 29 cr2 24/7 with a 4.6 on cpu.

4.2 4.3 is good for 3i5k as they don't get up there like the 2nd's it was released for the pcie3 standard and aren't really ment to push clock speeds as they cook staying with the motherboards voltage is recommended for ivys
