ASRock Z77 Extreme4 - Not detecting GTX670 but detecting HD6870

Hello,

I have a strange issue with the above board, the Z77 Extreme4.

It uses my GTX670 in the second (furthest away from CPU) PCI-E slot and works without issue, but does not detect it in the main PCI-E 3.0 slot (closest to CPU).

I have also tried the PCI-E 3.0 slot with a HD6870 card, this is found and used without a problem.

Any idea what this could be?

I put everything together yesterday and have updated to the 2.0 BIOS version. This is rather annoying as I plan on using two GTX670s in the future.

Did you set the BIOS setting for the PCI-E slot, under northbridge, default is PCI-E, is default, but check settings, and others set to auto.

After you updated BIOS, did you restart, open BIOS set default, restart, open BIOS, and set all, such as your storage options, North/South settings, Boot settings.

Reset card, on a few cases I built I had problems with the rear panel pushing on the lock plate and hitting between the mobo and case, so carefully it had to be re- seated.

I thought I posted again shortly after my initial post.

I tried the clear cmos button and suddenly.... It worked. Not really sure why, but never mind.

What BIOS are you running. If you updated your BIOS to one of the newer ones, try updating BIOS to version 1.30 or 1.40
