Asrock z77 extreme 4 questions

hello i just bought the z77 extreme 4 mobo and i wanted to test it beofore i put everything together and make sure it is getting power and everything before i put everything in it so my question is would i get any lights on the error code led without a cpu or ram installed?

It won't do anything without a CPU and memory installed. I've also found that from a cold start, when power was removed from the board, if you then turn the PS on, the power LED on the board will not come on, until you start the PC. Rather annoying, and it makes the board look like it is dead, but other boards I have do the same thing, so not uncommon.
