ASRock Extreme 9 not reconizing crossfire Asus 7970

ASRock Extreme 9 X79 not recognizing crossfire Asus 7970. It looks to be powered up all ok via the two green lights. It doesn't show in Bios that anything is in PCIE4 but shows the one in PCIE1. In Device Manager it only shows one card as well and Asus GPU tweak says only one card also. I've put a new motherboard in so I know its not that. I've also tried both cards in another computer individually and they both work fine.

Does anyone have any ideas?

W7 ultimate
MB = Asrock X79 Extreme 9
CPU = I7 3930K
RAM = Gskill F3-17000CLQ-16GBZH x2
PSU = Corsair AX1200
SSD = Sandisk Extreme 480gb
HDD = Hitachi 2Tb x 9
Case = Thermaltake LCS Kandalf

I have a z77 extreme 9 board and it would not display any DVI video peroid only VGA. Still working around this issue actually. do you cards work fine individually in the machine, have you tried one video card plugged into the pcie 4x and see if it produces any video?

No nothing at all shows in PCIE4 with using either cards... Remember this is the second MB and both are the same.

Ok found solution to the problem and all is now working.... As I have a Corsair AX 1200 PSU and it has modular type leads... Make sure that the 8 pin plug is in the PSU and the 6+2 is in the GPU. There is one pin missing on the 8 pin plug and this causes havoc if its the wrong way around.
