Try 16384 and see if that's allowed. It could just be a programming bug in AXTU/XFAST Ram.
That's what I use here and have had no problem.
Asrock X79 Extreme 9 m/b BIOS is latest at P2.30
intel i7 3930K
Asus Radeon HD 7870 DirectCU II
G.skill PC-12800 RipjawsZ 64GB (8x8GB dual channel)
Win 7 Pro
LG BD-ROM
Sandisk Extreme 240GB SSD boot drive on Intel X79 SATA3 controller
Sandisk Extreme 240GB SSD on Marvell 9220 controller (SATA3_M1)
Seagate Barracuda 3TB SSD on Marvell 9220 controller (SATA3_M0)
ATXU Software is lastest version 0.1.146
The system currently has only Windows, Chrome and a few utilities installed.
With 64GB of memory, a lot of it will go to waste so I would like to create a very large RAM Disk for the usual reasons
but also for very large temporary hd video files.
I was planning on reserving 14GB for system memory leaving a very useful 50GB for a scratch disk
However, I have only been able to create RAM disks up to 8GB and these have worked as expected.
After selecting the disc size, hitting Apply and then Start buttons, the new virtual drive pops up and the Start button
in the ATXU utility changes to a Stop button, the Drive Letter and Disc Size fields become locked and a
message appears saying that: "the changes only take affect until after you restart the system".
If I specify a disc size above 8192 MB, say 8193 or the preferred 51200 MB, select Apply and then Start it pauses for a
few seconds then nothing else happens. No messages, the Start button remains and the input fields are still editable.
Restarting at this point does not create any RAM drive.
So, am I doing something wrong?
...... or is this another undocumented feature of the Extreme 9? (I have another post over missing Hyper Duo Plus
and RAID options on the Marvell 9220 SATA3 controller so at the moment I getting a little suspect of my first Asrock m/b)

I cannot find any information about a limit to the size of the ASR RAM Disk. The only thing I saw implied if you used a 32 bit OS (only using 4GB) with 32GB of memory, you would have 28GB left for the RAM Disk.
Hmmm, I wonder ...........
Windows key > Run > resmon
Click the Memory tab and reply back what it states as Free under the linear graph.
