Default z77 extreme4 UEFI boot help needed

I am trying to install Windows 8 off of a USB drive to a RAID partition > 2.2TB
The USB drive, 16GB, is formatted to FAT32.
The Windows 8 image on the USB drive has bootmgr.efi in the root.
I have the USB drive in a USB 2.0 port. (I have also tried using a 3.0 port)
When I select UEFI: xxxx I get nothing.
    Update: I am running bios v 2.7
    Thoughts?

Is your RAID partition formatted in GPT?

Maybe these links will help with your usb installation:

Official Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool

In the past, others have used the HP usb tool to make bootable flash drives.
I don't know if things need to be done differently with win8.

    Thanks for the replies.
    Yes the partition is GBT.
I can boot off of the USB normally, but windows install still won't work with the large partition.
Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I assume when I select UEFI:xxx, the system will attempt to boot off of device xxx in UEFI mode. When I do this the system does nothing. My gut says there is either something missing from the USB drive that the system needs in order to boot in UEFI mode.
I've seen write ups for windows 7 and the *.efi files needed on the USB drive. I've seen nothing for windows 8. That being said, I do see similar efi files on the win 8 image.

Is there a bios setting to enable UEFI boot? I have reset the bios to default and re-setup the RAID.

    Solved!
I used a 32 bit version of Windows 7 to create my install media from the download. I re-downloaded on a 64 bit W7 system and then built the install media. All of the UEFI files were present.
