Help...
I've set PCI power on in UEFI.
I've tried to wake up either with port 7 or 9
But I failed in all cases...
Does somebody have an idea ? Did I miss something?
Best regards ans happy new year!
Marc

Between Xmas and New Eve, it's difficult to keep our brain clean, clear... Too much champagne may be!
Anyway, I just hope that 2013 will be good enough!

My B-Days are sadly measured in decades now, not years. As is my last drink of anything with alcohol. The WAF is responsible for many old habits now under the bridge.
Are you addressing as IP or MAC ?

Dear cuagn,
A75M-HVS can support WOL function.
Please refer to below suggestions to try again.
1. Load BIOS default settings and only adjust "PCI Device Power On" to [Enabled] to try again.
2. We tested WOL function via "magic_pkt" tool, please kindly try to use the tool and key in MAC ID to try again.
3. If possible, please change another system to check if WOL function works normally on other system.
Thanks!
Have a nice day

My configuration (HTPC usage only)
A75M-HVS P2.00 (Last UEFI version)
PROCESSOR AMD A6-3500 (2100 MHZ)
Memory 2 X 4GB (DDR3 1066)
DISKS :
- SSD 64GB
- 2 X 2.000 GB (RAID1)
- CD/DVD/Blu-ray Read - CD/DVD Write
Set to UEFI default except for:
- SATA Mode RAID
- PCI Device Power On ENABLED
Full new installation of Windows 8
All drivers are coming from Windows 8 install
Two utilities installed :
- Restart to UEFI ver:1.0.1 (From ASRock W8 drivers & utilities : ASRock > Products > Motherboard > A75M-HVS > Download)
- SATA RAID Utility ver:3.3.1540.5 (From ASRock W7 drivers & utilities : ASRock > Products > Motherboard > A75M-HVS > Download
Whatever the WOL used, the system doesn't boot :
Strange side effect : from time to time, just toutching a key on the keyboard, when the system is off, .... it boots!Code:C:\Program Files (x86)\Magic Packet>MagicPkt.exe 192.168.1.27 BC:5F:F4:54:72:99 MagicPKT (c) Copyright 2001 Marc D'Aloisio All Rights Reserved MAC sent to: bc:5f:f4:54:72:99 IP Address sent to: 192.168.1.27 C:\Program Files (x86)\Magic Packet>
I've also some difficulties with RAID. I'll open another thread.
Even if WOL not OK is not a big issue (just need to push a button :)), I would like to understand and solve this problem

Hello !
With my A75M I can do WOL from "power save mode" but not from "Standby".
Is it possible anyhow to start from LAN when the computer is powered off??
Regards
Ferdi
I'm still unable to WOL.
:(
I can't help you.

cuagn, Your board supports WOL, which must be enabled in the BIOS, although the options needing to be enabled and their names may not be obvious. The PCI Devices Power On is one such option, which you have mentioned. My (different) board also has the Boot From Onboard LAN option, which seems to be a poor way of describing WOL, or it could be a boot from a networked OS option, who knows.
You did not mention what you are using for your network connection, the onboard Realtek network chip, or something else? You mention using ports seven and nine, but nothing about a network card. Your board only has three PCI slots, so what do you mean by ports seven and nine?
Your network device, whatever it is (unknown at this time) might need its own driver installed, not just the driver Windows 8 installs. That may be the problem. Have you used the configuration options in your (unknown) network device's properties in Device Manager? Such as setting these options:
When the PC is shutdown via Windows, do you see any of the LEDs next to the network cable input on? If they are not on, the network device is not on and active, and cannot react to a WOL Magic Packet.
Franz, I'm not sure what you mean by "power save mode" but not from "Standby". I consider Standby to be Windows Sleep or Hibernate. When a PC is shutdown by Windows, and is "off", but the power supply switch is still on, WOL can start a PC in that state. Trying to use WOL on a PC that is in the Sleep state may not work.
