ASRock Z75 Boot Devices Stacking Up

I do use UEFI to boot up my windows7, GPT partition table.

I decided to give linuxmint14 a shot, booted up through UEFI using gpt partition table same as my windows is ran on, well, with AMD linux driver and cinnamon cpu usage problem, I secured erased my vector, restored an OS image backup of just Win7.

My UEFI is keeping memory of Boot Option # devices.

I disconnected all drives including my dvd rom burner and shutdown, no usb stick devices.

Boot back up into UEFI, and I see linuxmint as a boot option, and a USB stick boot option devices. But, nothing is connected!

Anybody else having this issue, or haven't noticed and might as of now that it has been brought up?

Any suggestions on how to remove stored boot devices?

What is odd is that, Windows Boot does not show while all my devices are disconnected, but a USB device & linuxmint does.

I let it sit over night without any power connected to the board, booted it up this afternoon, them two devices are still showing.

Here is a screenshot of my boot devices with nothing connected to the board, no ssd's, no hdd's no USB sticks and no dvd burners. And boot devices show two boot devices that should not be there.

I'm starting to really regret buying a ASRock board. For one, I contacted support, I got a reply with something that has nothing to do with my problem.

Here is the reply.

Unfortunately ASRock does not have driver nor solutions for any Linux OS

So, support by email ain't going anywhere. Support here ain't working, for the current ASROCK Z75 PRO3 problems.

Back in may I still have a problem with safe mode and UEFI and that is still not resolved, while two people had stated there is a problem.
Safe mode unbearably slow using UEFI.

What are you guys doing over there at ASRock? Supply some support PLEASE for both occasions.

Send a private message to ASRock TSD - Emily, include a link to this thread, and ask for her help.
This is primarily a user to user forum and there are several very experienced ASRock members who regularly assist others.
You need to be patient when you consider that many members live in different time zones.
Fortunately there are very few replies in the forum from inexperienced members who don't have a lot of knowledge or experience.

Providing detailed hardware and software information with brand and model names will help us better assist you instead of having to ask for additional information about your system.

Please include the power supply brand and model names and how old it is.

It looks like you sent your PM one day ago, which would be Saturday. You posted the message above today, Sunday. While I don't know with certainty how universal the concept of the "Weekend" is, I know that some companies do not have 24/7 support personnel.

It's also possible that support personnel are attempting to duplicate your issue, which takes time.

Frankly, some parts of your first post were difficult for me to understand, given how it was written. I'm a native English speaker/reader. Now imagine someone that isn't, trying to understand what you mean. That could be part of the problem.

On the main topic, did you clear the CMOS anytime at all? That should clear any remnants of previously connected devices.

I am one day ahead of myself, I figured to wait till monday, and thought today was monday, facepalm myself, even till you said it was sunday, i checked and was shocked. Well, that post was for monday afternoon, my bad. The first parts was explained to show why and how the linuxmint had gotten there. If that was not explained, it would have been asked how it got there etc.

I will clear the cmos and see, thanks for mentioning this, never came to thought of doing so.

thanks, parsec, clear cmos cleared those boot devices. Now, when I use my usb device, I won't have to guess which generic storage i can use, prior I had to guess, one between the 2, was a pain and won't have to stare at linuxmint in boot options. Very much obliged.
