Title pretty much sums it all up, have you guys updated to UEFI Bios version 2.80?
yes, last week, don't notice any difference though.
Yes I have, on two Z77 EX 4 boards, one with a SB CPU. No problems at all, except the "Support Intel UEFI RAID configuration in BIOS setup. that is mentioned as a feature or option, I cannot find anywhere. The Z77 EX 6 board had a recent UEFI update with this same text in the description, but also included an Intel RAID OROM update. That was not mentioned in our boards 2.80 update, and I checked the OROM version after updating to 2.80. It did not change, still at 11.2.0.1527.
Does anyone with a Z77 EX 6 board and UEFI 2.60, know what Intel RAID Option ROM your board now has? Do you also see a new option in the UEFI, perhaps in the Storage Configuration screen? I'm not sure, but the feature mentioned above may not have been added to the Z77 EX 4 board.
Of course, the documentation is so minimal, how can we know what was supposed to happen?
after I upgraded to 2.8, my computer hangs on the ASROCK screen if I do a reboot from Windows. if I shut the box down, then power on, it boots just fine. Has anyone seen this behavior or have any idea what setting I need to look at?? When it hangs, it happens before any hardware is initialized (keyboard and mouse do not light up). If this is an unstable version, does anyone have a recommendation on the most stable bios version?
Thanks
To use the "UEFI RAID configuration" you need to be running the UEFI OROM not the legacy OROM. If you are seeing 11.2 then you are running legacy. When switched to UEFI then it will be 11.6 for your 2.80 BIOS.
Still waiting for that option to be added for my pro3, maybe this week. Once you have enabled UEFI over legacy RAID OROM (csm disable?) then maybe look under advanced tab for the RAID config. GL.
You're right, but I was talking about a different OROM, the one seen in POST with a UEFI/CSM BIOS emulation boot. The one in this option, which I just figured out, is 11.6 as you said. I assumed that was the OROM updated (for BIOS/CSM boot), as mentioned in the Z77 EX 6 boards UEFI update that added this feature, but that was wrong on my part.
This option won't appear unless you are using Ultra Fast boot mode, and UEFI booting with Win 8, which completely skips a normal POST, and is why this option is actually useful.
I just did yesterday in an attempt to resolve an issue with 2 bad 670 ftw's i seem to have received (have a working one already, both of the new ones are unstable in the system even by themselves). Now I'm getting audio/system stutter at random after reverting back to the older original card configuration. Think i'm going to roll back to the previous bios to see if it fixes the issue.
