Cool Windos 7 64 bit with AMD FX8350 CPU on 990FX Extreme 9 MB

Windows reports 16Gb memory installed 12Gb unuseable. I called MS about this issue and their tech said it was an BIOS problem. I'm using G-Skill Ripsaw PC3 17000 4Gb sticks. The BIOS is 1.0 on this new MB. I know it just came out so has any one else run into this problem. Is there a fix for it yet?

I haven't a clue what else may or may not have been remedied/added/corrected other than what ASRock states "A.Update RAID UEFI Driver", but there is a new BIOS revision out for this MB. Revision 1.10.

A lot of times they'll include updates that might not have necessarily been announced in the releasing of one.

Worth a shot if you're comfortable flashing BIOSs.

One of the guys suggested that I move my memory around and look for bad stick. Well none of the sticks were bad but by doing this All of my memory is now on line and usable. Thanks guys for your suggestion.......Bob

It seems so, all though I did press on them several time in the trouble shooting process. The funny thing was it passed the ram test and showed 16gb on the post so I'm clueless on the exact cause. Seems to be just fine now and thanks again for your suggestions and help.....Bob
