Default K10N780SLIX3-WiFi stalls at boot window for a few minutes

When I boot up, I reach the boot window that says to choose F2, F11 or TAB to change screen, and it stalls there for about 3 minutes then continues. Before, it would just zip past this window.
I build this computer about 4 years ago and have had no problems with it.
I'm wondering, maybe the bios file has become corupt?
Once it has booted, I have no more problems.

Na. If it had corrupted you will know it. It's something that leaves no doubt about whether it is or not and certainly not a matter of maybe you should come here and ask.

Oh, duh. Hello and Welcome BTW.

Have you run the manufacturers diagnostic tools against all three Deskstars you have?

Or might maybe take a look in Event Manager for any error(s) that may give some guidance as to what might be causing this.

Problem solved. I noticed the 4GB USB flash drive icon in the My Computer window was appearing then disappearing. The computer was having difficulty recognising the flash drive. I unplugged it, and now the computer starts just fine. Although, come to think of it, I should open it up and blow some of the dust out and check the HD SATA cables. I ran the manufacturers diagnostic tools against all three Deskstars: they are OK.
    Thanks for the tips, wardog...

Yea, I was thinking it was having an issue reading a drive as to why it was "stalling' at that particular point in the boot process.

Glad you figured it was a USB drive causing this.
