This might seem silly to ask but have you installed the Broadcom gigabit lan drivers?
I'm assuming this is a new build.
Hello all,
I'm having an issue with the gigabit lan interface.
I'm connected to a gigabit router however windows it shows my link speed as 100mbps. Is this possibly a motherboard issue? My old PC still shows a 1000 mbps when connected to the same port.
thank you

wardog, do you recall if your Broadcom NIC even worked at all before the driver was installed? I could swear it did not with Windows 7, but I could be wrong. I'm using an Intel NIC board so I haven't used the Broadcom lately at all.
No I don't. I stay disconnected until every driver is installed. I don't want Windows Update sneaking one in on me. Which is why I asked because I've seen WU do that before and it be problematic/wrong/non-working.

Good point, although you can also set Windows to not auto-update during the installation, but your method is the safest.
The OP's problem could be a configuration issue, which can be fixed in the advanced properties of the onboard NIC, but we don't know what driver is being used.
The latest Z77 Extreme4's onboard Broadcom BCM57781 NIC drivers can be downloaded HERE.
And nissmo66, please follow up and complete filling in your System Specs so that we know what you have there system wise.

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the XFastLan ASrock program thats running?
