This happens on my Z77 Pro3 P1.90, anyone else have the same on their AsRock boards?
When warm starting with 2 or more storage devices containing Shellx64.EFI in the FAT32 root directory and launching the EFI shell from BIOS the system regularly freezes at the BIOS setup screen (seconds of clock update stops). When frozen, pulling/disconnecting the second storage device with Shellx64.efi usually resumes normal operation or occasional may report "device not found" in which case launching the shell again at that point loads the shell of the remaining device.
Warm starting, for instance restarting W8 to the UEFI BIOS and launching the shell.
Cold starts appear to be fine although there is no choice in which shell to run. For instance in other operations there is a boot selection for when there are several bootable storage devices or when Instant flashing there is a choice of which ROM to select if there are more than one. There does not seem to be this functionality with the EFI shell where I have one Shellx64.efi on my main RAID0 FAT32 system partition but may wish to load a shell from a flash USB drive. Renaming to BOOTx64.EFI maybe a workaround but would prefer if the shell can be made to work correctly.
Thoughts?
* After some further investigation it seems that probably the shellx64.efi on the USB flash drive causing the freezing so maybe when cold booting the RAID0 shell was selected by the BIOS whilst with warm booting the USB shell was selected. So the only thing that needs to be addressed is "Selective UEFI Shell" options that currently do not appear to be present. Thanks.
