:D I am so pleased this place now has an asus forum :D

Ok Since last time I was here Iv sold my old i7 the one in my sig and built a new one and was hoping someone here could help me with bios setting to get my new build running sweet with stock setting as they are all at defaults atm ram included :) I will be OCing when i get my new cooler.

So my new build is as followed:

Asus P6X58D-E
i7 950
Corsair 6Gb XMS (CMX6GX3M3A1600C9)
Ocz Vertex 2 60Gb
Samsung F3 1Tb
WD Black 640Gb
Evga GTX460 1gb SC
Antec 900
Corsair HX Modular 750w
LG BDRom
Stock cooler (My Next buy is a new cooler)

I managed to get my old setup stable @ 3.6ghz (thanks lsd and Wazza) But this asus bios is totally different so am hoping one of you guys can help me set my ram and best stock setting...

what do you want to clock to? i have that mb sitting at 4.2ghz atm

im clocked using voltage offset which allows the cpu to downclock at idle and full 4.2ghz at load(same as dvid in gigabyte)

Cheers wazza for now i just want best stock settings and helping setting my ram to 1600mhz as i havnt a clue with this bios :( its all set to default atm.

Am buying a new cooler after xmas so will be back for help overclocking soon as i have that :D

you can leave prettymuch everything on auto for stock clocks,just set dram bus voltage(ram) according to spec either 1.5v or 1.64v,set qpi/vtt to around 1.3000v,set memory timing then type or select timing and enter it into the top four boxes like this but according to your ram

then set your ram speed it will show a list and choose 1603mhz
you can enable extreme phase full power mode
enable cpu and pci-e spread spectrum

and thats it really,if you want to overclock then set a manual cpu voltage but for stock it should be fine on auto

take a close look in the other bios pges you can set hdd delay to 0 ect to speed up start times

sorry m8 but iam a proper noob and really havnt a clue with this bios is there no templates about like the one in your sig for my board just i dont want to change the wrong setting a brick my new mobo :)

yh theres no templates for asus on here,if you read in the mb manual it will show you what to set,basically there pretty much the same,dram voltage is called dram bus voltage and thats for your ram so it will be either 1.5v or 1.64v,then set qpi/vtt voltage to 1.30000v and set ram timings and speed according to ram,if i had a decent camera i would upload a video showing you but i aint got a good enuff camera

cheers wazza managed to do all that now :D will be back when i get my cooler, but think i may get a new case 1st as i dont like the cable management in these antec 900 so thinking of upgrading to the 1200, what cooler do you recommend in the £30 range? was thinkin of a corsair H50/70 but not sure cos of the price :)

ermm i think the "akasa nero S" is a decent cooler for the price,i had the normal nero before this cooler and it was just as good but had no backplate just intel pushpins,makesure you buy one with a backplate there much better to fit

if you wanna spend more then the prolimatech megahalems are good,you have to buy extra fans with the megahalems as its just the heatsink
