Put some scotch tape over it, not really, talk to the manufacturer or some screen site, maybe that'll help.
HELP ! To my horror i have found a 1" scratch in nearly the centre of my 19" tft. Does any one know wot i could use (that has been tried before) to try and get rid of this eye sore. Not bothered about price as if i cannot get rid of it i'll have to get a new screen
Thank's all

A physical scatch in the screen cannot be fixed AFAIK. Screens can be cleaned, but you can't clean part of a screen back into existence. You can see if it's covered under the warranty. If not, you're SOL.

this may sound silly, but you know the way you fix scratched cds by burning off a layer of plastic? could you do this to your monitor with solvent? then again, the monitor may have a special coating, or you may make a big sticky mess!
never mind

Honestly, I do not really know what to tell you. If it is going to trash the LCD though and it is not under warranty, if I were you I would at least give Google a hit and see if you can't find anything. Also, I was thinking (I am aware TFT's aren't glass) about a sealant/filler coat used on windshields of vehicles that MAY work. Especially if they make a plasticish equivalent.
Been on goggle and not had much joy thats why i posted here. Only one orr two thing's but none that were tried and tested. And thats the main thing, not worth it just yet. Thanks all so far

Well then, is the monitor under warranty? If so, go that route, because trying to fix it will void the warranty. If not, than definately pick and choose and find a method you want to try, and give it a practice run or two on another surface, that way you don't get halfway through the job on the actual TFT and go "****! what do I do now?" and screw up the job.
Yer the monitor is still under warranty, but i did not think that that would be covered for getting a scratch ! Unless you know otherwise ?

Just check the warranty statement.

It never hurts to give them a call and at least try it. Not that I ..uhh...condone it, but you could say you received it that way and just are now getting around to calling it in.
