What card to buy?

Hi guys

I'm new to the boards.

There are two cards I'm interested in but they seem quite similar (in spec and price) making it hard for me to make my mind up, the cards are:

Zotac GeForce 8800GT AMP! Edition 512MB
ZOTAC GeForce 8800GT AMP! Edition :: TweakTown


Zotac GeForce 9600GT AMP! Edition 512MB
ZOTAC GeForce 9600GT 512MB AMP! Edition :: TweakTown

Can you guys help me make my mind up please!!

Is there a better card for around the same price? may be a 9800?

Which is best?

I't mainly for a gaming mechine.

A 9800GT is basically a rebranded 8800GT, get it instead. OR if u want the OC'ed 8800GT then get the AMP! edition one.

i would say definitely go for the 8800 (out of those 2 cards)... but all in all, the best cards out there in that price range right now are nv's 9800GT+ and ATI's Radeon HD 4850
