How big do you anticipate the shrapnel radius will be? A pc case sure isn't going to offer any containment or direction to the shock wave from a half kilo of Semtex.

Sandbags. Three rows wide (facing blast area), stacked close together. Stack to taste.

Thick plexiglass (good strength rating, not the plexi that we use for case windows) 1/2 inch thick should do the trick. Two sheets to be safe. For the camera, of course :) Wouldnt want to lose a cam to two or three pieces of shrapnel!
