Default Painting Fan of HeatSink

If I were to spraypaint the fan on a heatsink (after removing it) would it have any negative effects? would the extra wait of the paint hurt the rpm? also, I assume regular spraypaint would be ok, right? Also, is it difficult to remove the fan from most HSFs?

Fans operate properly when they are built with equal weight distribution over all blade areas. When you introduce paint to the picture, it is very possible to knock the balance of a fan out of balance. This will cause it to not spin properly and very likely reducing the lifespan of the motor since it is not spinning properly.

I wouldn't recommend it but hey, its your box.

and we all know that it wouldn't be very good if your fan stops spinning while your OC'd barton 2500 mobile is running! I was afraid that could be the case, thank you for the advice.
