Vdroop is all over the place with this board. I set it to 1.4V in bios, droops to 1.36-1.38 in Windows under load, 1.4V or so idle.

I get 0.06v between bios and Windows idle, 1.3v in bios to 1.24v in Windows and under load it drops down to 1.15V

I've got 3.0Ghz rock solid stable (24 hours x two instances of Orthos small FFTs) at 1.15v (windows) at 49°C load. I lapped my cooler and cpu IHS on the weekend in an attempt to lower temps and I gained ~8°C at load, the IHS was incredibly uneven, the Zalman was concave.

Next up is 3.2GHz then 3.6GHz and when my new ram gets here (HyperX PC2 9600) hopefully higher.

It would want to given the thermal spec of the X3210 (assuming that is the quad you're referring to)

Type / Form Factor .............. Intel Quad-Core Xeon X3210
Multi-Core Technology .......... Quad-Core
64-bit Computing ................. Yes
Processor Qty ..................... 1
Clock Speed ....................... 2.13 GHz
Bus Speed ......................... 1066 MHz
Compatible Processor Socket . LGA775 Socket
Manufacturing Process ......... 65 nm
Thermal Design Power .......... 105 W
Thermal Specification ........ 62.2 °C

EDIT: Is yours a B3 or G0 stepping?? because these specs look like B3 to me.

My hunch was correct, the G0 thermal spec is 85°C

To be honest I can't find a review that compares it to anything of interest e.g. Ultra 120 eXtreme, Tuniq Tower, Zalman etc, the review I found (almost everyone linked to the same one at OC3D) compared it to some rather obscure coolers and the results against the stock cooler (~7°C less at idle, ~9°C less at load on an e6700 at stock clocks) were hardly "earth shattering" to say the least. Without actually physically having a play with it to verify these results lets just say I'm "underwhelmed".

I've seen others asking about the VF700 but to be honest I can't say for sure, I was planning on a VF1000 now they have finally managed to get the ZM-RHS88 available here.

Futuristic looking thing, I'll read up on that later.

The NH-U12P cools my 1 year old AMD64X2 4200 overclocked on an asus m2npv-vm mobo at 2420MHz(2200MHz stock) stable at 20c-23c idle and 32-34 loaded on oblivion. With 2 other 120mm fans blowing in my Sonata 2 case and a vf900 cooling my 7600gt ko. Its a quiet setup. I did pay $71 dollars shipped for this bad boy. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!RIGHT (It is alot for a air cooler)
Waiting for my tax return so i can get a new build.

Eventually I purchased a Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme after many hours of researching.
Just check and make sure your case is wide enough to take the beastie.
