cubic
feet
per minute

it tells how much air is being moved, and 70cfm is better, but generally louder.

if u wanna compare how loud 2 fans are use the decibel (dB) ratings in each of their specs, higher is louder. In the end you have to decide whether u want a high cfm fan that makes a lot of noise, or if u can live with a lower cfm fan that is much quieter.
