Default Computer is Beeping!?

Just got a new video card ATI X1800 GTO and a new Power supply (550w). All my programs run just fine with no problems. I have a few 3D screensavers that appear to use alot of juice from the videocard. After about 30 to 60 minutes of the screensaver running, my computer starts to beep in about ten second intervals. Would this be a overheating problem and what might be a solution? Thanks.

Best guess would be heat related issues(as you stated). Adding case fans often is the easiest solution. More info on your system (motherboard make/model, cpu, ram, type of case) may be helpful.

I'm not getting a good look at the case from the pics I've been able to find but it doesn't look like the thing has a lot of places for fans. If there is a space designed for an extra case fan at the back then it would prolly be a good idea to try one. Any case fans at the back should be blowing out ... case fans at the front should suck in. For $5 - $20 case fans for this experiment are pretty cheap. You could prolly experiment a bit by leaving the side panel off during use to see if the problem goes away although modern systems should be designed for optimal airflow with the case closed.

A big prob with those is that ppl tend to stick them in the most warmest, unventilated postions possible.
