Any one give me some clues on cpu temp my temps read 45c at an idol, case temp 25c Do any real computing the temps jump up 55/60c It cools down fast back to 45c I have that arctic silver 3 compound on maybe to much or not enough Iv'e had the arctic silver 3 stuff on for about a month still the same thing happening.
Via motherboard
P4 1.7
DDR 2100 - 256
Gf 2 mx 400
7200 maxtor hdd
stock hsf
2 case fans -1 front bottom blowing in
1 top back blowing out

Any help would be helpful

I think its your stock HSF thats the problem.
Maybe getting a Volcano7+? Its only about 20bucks.
Also the layer of AC3 should be thin, like a piece of paper thin. This isnt the case of "more the better," so check that


BTW are you having any problems w. stability running at 60C?????
That is getting really up there!
I'm running S@H all the time and I dont ever see 45C! I got AC3 and V7+.

Yes do be sure that the AS3 was very thin but you needn't worry as throttin' will kick in at the mid 70C's and shut itself down if heat continues to rise.
