Default Fans With Controlers Connection Question

Have a GA-EP35-DS3R motherboard.
I just put in two Rosewill 120mm fans that came with controllers. Replaced the rear and added a front.
The wiring harness on each controller has fan, board, and molex connectors.
Right now I have just the molex and fans connected. Nothing to the mother board.
I do not get a fan speed output to my hardware monitor. Just being cautions, I didn't pin them to the board in fear the board would try and override my controllers.
Can I disable the thermal fan speed and get the RPMs to show up?

thanks

Default Re: Fans With Controlers Connection Question

If you have a fan(s) with both a Molex and a single yellow 3 or 4-pin connector block, then it will only be powered through the Molex. The other connection is for your motherboard fan header, which allows your mainboard to monitor fan speeds.

Edit--- I may have been confusing... the single yellow port I was referring to will consist of a connector (usually white) and a single yellow wire coming from the fan. This monitors fan speed.

If you'll post your Rosewill part number, I'll try to figure out how to get the RPM signal back to a couple of your MOBO's fan headers...
