I recently got me a free Cooler Master DP5-6I31C-A1.
The name on the box means nothing to me.
Is it a new one, an old one and is it worth anything (its for an AMD and im on a P4)

It's a socket 7/370/A HSF but I wouldn't use it on anything more that a 1GHz Duron (any socket7 or 370 will be fine if it fits) even though they rate it up to 1.4GHz it will struggle at those speeds. ;)
