Default Noctua NH-U12P for 1366 Intel i7 920 Temps.

Just mounted my Noctua NH-U12P on my Gigabyte MOBO with the Intel i7 920 CPU. This is a monster of a cooler and it is doing a fantastic job already. Just wondering though, cores 1-2 were holding pretty steady at 35°celcius and 3-4 were also holding steady but at 31-32°cel. at idle. Havent run Prime95 yet as I am just kind of waiting for the TIM to work in a little. If the temps stay this way would that be a reason to try and reseat again?

Check that last post. The temps seem to be evening out. Hope this is getting better. Also I used the supplied Y-connector to have both fans controlled by the CPU fan input. I could have just used the System fan input for the 2nd fan maybe. Is this the right way to do this? Thanks

y adapter is fine off the CPU fan output.

The CPU temps will be different on the cores. Usually cores 0 and 1 the temps are close together within one or two c and will be higher than cores 2 and 3 and cores 2 and 3 will be similar if not dead exact. Depending on what TIM you used, and how it was applied and actual contact area will depend on how long it takes to cure. ie- AS5 (arctic Silver 5) takes up to 200 hours to cure but usually within 72 hours, those will be your temps.
