ram cooling install

Guys,

I put the thermatec ram cooler on my stick of ram last night. The little heat spreading strip that came with it went on crooked a little on each side. Will this matter if the memory modules on the ram will only be partially covered by the heat spreader strip in some areas? Will I be hurting anything by leaving it as is? By the way the ram looks kick ass now with it blue casing!
