cooler installed. It's very loud, and I'd like to replace it. I want a new cooler which uses the stock Intel retention frame, since replacing the frame requires removing the motherboard, which I don't want to do. So, does anyone know of a better cooler which works with the stock retention frame, and has the usual desirable attributes of good cooling and low noise? |

I have spent a fair amount of time "googling" to try to figure this out.
The Zalman CNPS7700-Cu looks like a good cooler, but it's hard to tell from the pictures on their site whether it uses the stock Intel Socket 478 retention frame. Can someone confirm whether it does? Thanks! |

Yes it does, zip over to the Zalman site and watch the installation movie (ensure you select the 478 installation movie), check out some other alternatives while you're there.
