There was a sale on Thermalright heatsinks the other day, so I picked up a SLK900u and had an extra 92mm fan laying around. I took out my 7+, put the SLK in there, and my cpu temp went from 49 to 41 idle (with the 7+ on med)! I was surpised!

Though I love my 7+, even on med setting it was a little whinny. I'm much happier now--the 92mm fan isn't nearly as loud!

Since sigs aren't working at the moment...

I don't think anyone has stated the Thermalright sinks are bad news, but the cost of the things make it difficult to recommend for anyone on a budget. But yes, Thermalright makes a very fine cooling setup. :)

I guess it wasn't THAT big of a sale $29.99 at svc.com. But I bought my 7+ for $34.99 a couple years ago...

well id come to believe that a sink with a 92mm will outdo a 80mm sink anyday, so long as they are both of similar quality.....
