i just recently replaced my hsf with a volcano 11 and for some reason asus probe was displaying temps of 48-50c idle for my proc. so i repositioned the hsf and it still shows that i got 48-50c idle. i have the jumpers on the hsf positioned so that its always running at full rpm's and it freakin sounds like a damn leafblower. my proc is athlon xp 1800 1.53ghz. i have asIII on the proc. i have 6 case fans and my system runs hotter with the side panels off than with them on. any helpful advice would be much appreciated:shrug:

I have a Volcano 7+ xaser edition, and when i leave it on full blast my idle is 34, but when it is full load its 49. If i leave it on temperature control(using the sensor) it idles at 33 and full load at 45. So you should try the sensor instead of the full power, it is more quiet and better cooling, in my experience. p4 2.4 @ 2.7

What was your recent hsf temps? Because you should be getting lower temps because your room temp. does affect your airflow. Try my suggestion then tell me how it goes.
