what heatsink do you have?
how good is your case cooling?
how hot is the room the pc is in?

what are your system specs?

the room i'm in is pretty much room temperature (20-22 degrees) and that's the temp i reallly want my computer to be at, cuz it seems to run well at around 24 degrees (have it open right now w/ a fan blowing at it)

i have no clue what the heat sink is

and the case is just a standard case, nothin special, so the cooling is adequate

getting your comp that cool will be hard without expensive measures.

do the temps run better when you have the door off?
if they do then case cooling is part of your problem. How many case fans do you have and in what direction are they blowing in

if you dont what what kind of hsf you have, then it is probably stock...upgrading that will also be benifical along with some artic silver 3 to replace that crappy goop I'm sure you have on there now.

Is your cpu overclocked? and what kind of cpu do you have?

how do tou have your cables routed? they could be blocking airflow.

do you have a pic of your PC's interior?

at what temps is your cpu/case running at idle/max

do the temps run better when you have the door off?
yup, about 5 degrees less

which way to the fans blow?
1 in and 1 out and the heatsink

Is your cpu overclocked? and what kind of cpu do you have?
not overclocked and it's a p4 2ghz 478pin mobo

how do you have your cables routed?
i dunno, i tied them up this morning, check the pick and give me your opinion

at what temps is your cpu/case running at idle/max
w/ door on - 30 degrees idle and 40 max
w/door off and fan blowing on it - 23 idle and 28, 29 max

I see an empty space for a case fan at the front of that case, infront of the drives.

man, those temps are great...you problem lies elsewhere

but some rounded cables would help your airflow, as well as using up your case fan mounts...but that would also increase noise

that's an unusal looking hsf

i'm sure it's the temps cuz it locks-ups when it's closed and around those 32 degree temps, but say if i cool it down to 25 degrees using a fan, and then close it up, it runs smoothly w/o lockups soooo... i dunno

thnx so far guys

Okies ya temps ain't bad at all but ya case airflow is a prob though. Ya said that ya had "1 in and 1 out" but there's no front fan that I can see plus the back exhaust is right, doesn't that case have a top blowhole as well and I certainly hope that it's suckin' the air out and not tryin' to blow it in there.
