Can you not just use Update driver in Device Manager?
If the file you downloaded is exe or zip file than install or unzip before and point to the files. If install windows should automaticly find the new drivers you have installed. |

Very true. Windows will always install it's base version of the driver when it finds a new device. It will have no adverse effects to just install the newest drivers over the top of them. I've done it countless times and have yet to run into a problem.
Alternatively, if you really are that concerned about the issue, then head on over to www.guru3d.com and look for their little utility called Detonator Destroyer. It is designed to remove all the little files hiding around for the nVidia based video cards to enable you to install the new drivers cleanly. Good luck. :) |
