Install an older version of directx 9.0c

I, here is my problem.
I have directx 9.0c and i'm trying to install Cakewalk sonar 2.0xl but the installation of this program is not compatible with direct x 9.0c. I know that it's work with directx 8.1 but I don't know how to install an older version over the version 9.0c ... Can someone help me please ?

Head over to www.guru3d.com and search for a utility called "DirectX 9 Uninstaller". It should allow you to remove the DirectX 9 but you'll need to locate an older version and have it handy for installation.
