Just recently I have noticed a single, faint, straight, horizontal line running across my screen. It's always in the same place. Would changing graphics card drivers cure this or is something else causing it? Thanks.:(

If it towards one of the edges, then no... another graphics card won't cure it. All trinitron monitors have a thin line that runs throughout the screen area. If you're just now noticing this line, it is likely that you just haven't paid any attention to it in the past. It is one of the downfalls to the trinitron technology, but most folks figure that it is a fair trade-off for superior picture quality.

Actually the line is about 3 or 4 inches from the bottom of the screen. Thanks for your very fast first reply!

In fact there should be 2 horizontal lines. 1 about a quarter of the way down from the top and the other a quarter of the way up from the bottom.

Ah... didn't realize there were two lines (I don't use a trinitron display). But there ya go... there are two of them and they're there for keeps. It is just the type of display you have.

I guess I'm lucky then. I only see one line. It's hard to imagine that that thing's been there all along and I just now noticed it!

Well there are two in the 2 Trinitrons and 4 Diamondtrons that I have here unless Sony has changed something very recently.
