specs
ep45 ds3r
q6600 go
2 x 1gb ocz 800 ram 5-5-5-15 (replacing sometime soon)
1kw psu
48701gb

Here is my current bios settings. I think I have f4. Do you think I should flash it to a new version because I am missing some options?

So you all good now, or do you still need further help? Sorry for the delay in replying to your PM, I just got back in

I do advise you flash to the latest BIOS, and PLEASE find and set your own stable voltages for Vtt, PLL, Vcore. Those can't be safely left in auto when overclocking

I just flashed my bios to the latest f10 and my oc is no longer stable. It seems some of these new options need to be set differently. Let me get my bios settings real quick here.

Driving Strength settings, set both channels to 800 or 1066, both should work and 1066 is often better. If you are only running 800Mhz ram exactly though it may not always work, but try it first.

Channel A + B tRD (Static tRead Values) need to match, if you are using 2.00D ram multi set 8-9, if you get 2.00B ram multi to work you may be able to use 7-8. Try 399 FSB if you want to try to get 2.00B working if 400 FSB does not work for you. I do also advise using 399 or 401 and not 400 exactly.

I advise you set your own Vtt (CPU Term) and PLL. Maybe 1.34-1.48 Vtt and 1.5-1.6 PLL. MCH Core voltage that high can cause you issues, you should not need more than 1.14-1.2 with 2x1, and auto should work fine.

I got it! What I had to do though was load optimized defaults then set everything I know needs to be set. It seems stable so far.... Do you think I should consider a pencil mod? I set the vcore to 1.55v in the bios and cpuz says my vcore is 1.392. Before the bios update, with it set to 1.55v in the bios is said 1.44v in cpuz!! Thats a huuuuge vdroop! Should I also consider the pencil mod? And about the max vcore, I understand it shouldnt really be above 1.55. Is that in the bios or after the vdroop? Like say I set it to 1.7 in the bios and got 1.55 in cpuz. Would that be ok?

Pencil mod could help, or you could go back to ther other BIOS if you liked it.

Pencil mod ONLY helps with Vdroop though, not Vdrop which you are mentioning I think.

MAX (Of however you decide) should be what you see in CPU-z under load or at idle.

I kept getting other bsods telling me to update my bios so going back isnt an option. Can you explain the difference between vdroop and vrop? And so I would be safe setting the vcore to be like 1.7 in the bios and get 1.55 with vdrop or vdroop

BSOD does not tell you to update your BIOS?

Vdrop is the difference between what you set in the BIOS and what you see in windows in CPU-z at idle

Vdroop is the difference between what you see in windows in CPU-z at Idle vs what you get under full load

1.7 sounds like a bit too much to be setting to me, I would go back to the older BIOS and report the issue with the new BIOS compared to the old one.

I do believe there is a P45 Vdroop mod out there
