Is there any free VoIP providers left out there or have they all started charging now?

VoIP - Voice over Internet Protocol

Pretty much using your internet connection as a phone. Being able to dail out and talk to people just like you would with a normal phone, but it goes through your computer. Im pretty sure when it first came out it was all free, but now that its gotten popular, most companies charge, and the phone companies dont like the idea of free long distance anywhere in the world. Sounds kinda like other digital media cases

The cheapest i've seen is Net2Phone or Vonage. it makes me clamor for the olden days of vocaltec's internet phone software though..

you can do voice for free via netmeeting but you need to know the party on the other ends IP address you can't just call a regular telephone.

I checked out skype, but didnt like the idea of both users needing the program. Other then that it looks like a great program, though since its by the creaters of Kazaa i am worried about spyware. I just want to dail out to another phone number. Simply because someone in my house is always using the phone when I need it.
