Port Fowarding Problems with 2-wire 3800HGV-B Gateway

Hi all. I am having problems forwarding ports with my 2-wire 3800HGV-B gateway. I am aware of how to do this and I have tried with many different port numbers but none seem to work. Have anyone else had this problem? does anyone have any advice?

I used this tutorial on port forwarding Port Forwarding Utorrent on the 2 Wire 3800HGV-B

To clarify, I am hooked directly to the modem. I have no firewall active. and I am positive that I am trying to attempting to host the application on my computer
