Default Am I the only one to notice Intel's SSD Prices ???

This is really getting on my nerves. NEwegg had the First gen Intel 80gb SSD MLC listed for $229 as well as the 2nd Gen listed for $229 before they removed because of the Password Bug it had. It had returned on the 28th as said by the website at an increased price of about $289.

From what i understand, the 2nd Gen SSD's from intel were supposed to be sold at a reduced cost because of reduced cost to make the units, or the same price as it originally was at $229. A few people did get this deal. See the dated reviews here.

Customer Reviews Of Intel X25-M Mainstream SSDSA2MH080G2C1 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid state disk (SSD) - OEM

Here is the REALLY ugly part, THE PRICE INCREASED TO $499! WTF! *******s! Why NewEgg!??!? why!?!?!?

Yea whatever , new technology means price increases. This was not supposed to be with Intels 80G2C1 .

Is everyone else as angered as I? How could this be?

Newegg prices are made by a special software system that monitors the inventory. Someone wrote an article about it a long time ago and I forget where it is now. Just hang tight, other shops will have them soon and the bird will sing with 200 USD SSDs.

I did see a few other shops that have them listed in the 240-300 range, most are out of stock. Very interesting, im gonna call Newegg and yell at the machine that performs these tasks.

The item is listed as Deactivated now... which usually means its not coming back in one way or another. If its out of stock, it will say so and still give u the option of auto-notify when available, add to cart, etc.

The 80G1 has decreased in price from 389 yesterday ..might have been 349 im not sure, today it is at $299.
