Default I got switch off and immediately switch on

Hello!

I got IDE WD 80 Gb about 6 years for c: drive (I got 2 drives). Lately my PC got to be frozen a lot of times, I got a lot errors by chkdsk, but all were fixed.

WD Data Life Tools says the disk is OK.

Additionally, to chkdsk errors (that has been fixed and after that I got more and fixed them too) I got switch off and immediately switch on (not restart), but switching. Is it bounded with hard disk prroblem, or may be additionally I have PSU problem? Please help!!

Seems that the PC works without to be frozen, only switching out and on (sometimes)
Thanks.

My PC:

Motherboard GA-P35-DS3 , Radeon HD 2600XT Super ,Processor E6550 , Kingston DDR2 1 Gb 800MHz CL5

Hard Disks both IDE: WD60 JB, Seagate ST36081 (160 Mb)
PSU Sweex 350 WATT GOLD
Optiarc DVD RW AD-7170S (SATA)

Thanks for help

It could very well be a power supply related issue. 350 watts is not enough to owrk with your hardware list and corruption of core files is a problem that can occur. Just out of curiosity, did your problems start shortly after you upgraded the mainboard, processor and graphics board?

a 6 year old WD - amazing - in my experience WD disk die about a month after their warruntee does

if your getting a lot of clicks & more noise coming from the HD - your HD is warning that its about to go awol
