Moving a RAID 1 From PC to External Box ?
I have two 750 GB HDDs' in my PC in a RAID 1 array on a Gigabyte MB RAID SATA connection controler.
I am moving them out into this
external enclosure
and want to know if the DATA will be safe or do I need to move it off the drives and then set it up?
The box has it's own contoler and a single eSATA connection.
Thanks

Re: Moving a RAID 1 From PC to External Box ?
I would take the safe route and copy or move the data off the Raid array, especially since the external has it's own controller

Re: Moving a RAID 1 From PC to External Box ?
even if it was the same controller it'd still be risky just to move them - definately copy the data first
