+12 and -5 voltage readings - are these normal?

I have been looking at my voltages on H/W monitor. I can't remember seeing the -5 or +12 voltage readings like this before. I can't find the proper answer. Do you know if this is "normal" I have no problems and my system is running fine overclolcked.

Without seeing the voltages you are referring to (simply typing the values will be sufficient I think), I can only say that onboard voltage monitors are notorious for being inaccurate. Always use a properly calibrated multimeter of some sort to verify voltages.

Also of note is that not all power supplies still include a -5v rail since this is an outdated need and current ATX standards do not require it. So if your; motherboard is trying to read a voltage rail that doesn't exist, and is inaccurate on top of this, it could explain wild readings.

I have set up my second P55-UD4P Gigabyte motherboard. The voltages on it are being read wrong by HWMonitor also. ET6 reads them fine. I have a new Corsair HX750 modular PSU on both systems so HWMonitor does NOT work with this board period. The rest of the info seems to be good but the voltages are not right. Thanks for all the help and I hope this will help someone else sometime.

Yes, HWmonitor like speedfan does not always get things right. I Suggest you try out Everest Ultimate instead
