Default Intel DG33BUC: 3 beeps?

Hello everyone,

A friend of mine has an Intel DG33BUC MB, and it started acting up :-( No POST screen is displayed, and the PC does not switch off. The PC beeps 3 times. According to the manual, 3 beeps means a memory error.

Is there anything he can try before taking the PC in to the shop? Could it be something other than RAM?

TIA

If your friend has more than one stick of ram it may be worth trying one stick at a time in different slots to see if the problem is localized to one or the other.

Manual is here >>>
Intel® Desktop Board DG33BU - Product Guide [D8342601_EN.PDF, D8342601_CS.PDF]

Codes are listed in the back of the manual, and yes 3 beeps is a ram error. I would try some different ram because even though it is working sounds like that ram is on it's way out the door
