Default MSI released their core-unlocking bios on their website

Hey guys.

See this one: MSI Global ? Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more

Currently the bios updates are only available on 790fx, 790gx, some 785g, 760g and 740g chipset.

Hope they will release the bios for 770 series soon. Since I only got an msi 770 c45 and phenom II 550 on hand.

PS: looks like only a few of AMD cpu could be unlocked to more cores.

Athlon X2 5000+ with 0935 0936 0937 0938 numbers
phenom II 545/550 with 0922 0924 0925 0926 0927 0928 numbers
phenom II 425 with 0933 0937 0938 numbers

etc.

Default Re: MSI released their core-unlocking bios on their website

Anybody here try it? Is there a performance hit vs their counterparts with all cores enabled at the fab? I would assume that these cores were disabled in the first place because they were faulty or just couldn't keep up with the speed of their similar binned counterparts while able to remaining. I can't see such CPUs overclocking very well and definitely wouldn't trust my data to one. Interesting workaround though, definitely something I wanna read up some more on.
