Found a brand new socket 423 mobo in the back room the other day i bought somewhere 2 years ago real cheap

Have a sister looking for a cheap upgrade from her P2 400 system and thought of this board

Anyone got an old P4 socket 423 CPU lying around anywhere they want to get rid of?

All the ones I've seen use the RDRAM or something weird, Intel supplied them with the CPU, used in two's so be careful. Sorry can't help with CPU I've looked at some UK suppliers buy no stock. :(

Yea. RDRAM is damn expensive. You can get some pretty cheap Athlon XP/Sempron barebones systems that would end up costing you less.

You don't have to use 2 RDRAM modules, you can use a(what the hell is it called) in any case it is a conectivity module is what it is and it takes the place of one RDRAM module if you cant find two, mind you those are fairly hard to come by as well.

With rdram it does have to be used in pairs unless you're using I think 1066mHz rdram, which isn't supported in most P4 boards. What you are thinknig of, Amd_lover, is called a CRIMM. Continuity Rambus Inline Memory Module. With rdram you have normally 4 slots. You either have 2 sticks of rdram in the first two slots, and then 2 crimms in the last 2 slots or have all 4 slots filled with ram.
