Hi CravenRS, Ive taken a look at that, and heres my opinion on it.

Firstly, 8gb of ram is total overkill unless your planning on photo editing while videoediting while playing crysis. while 2gb is fine for most, go for a 4gb kit with 2 sticks, so you have the option to upgrade to 8gb later. consider getting a 1066mhz ram set, OCZ reaper is very reasonable (about £100 for 4 gigs) and runs blazingly fast.

Secondly, the motherboard. I reccon your better spending most on the best mobo you can afford, so your upgrade path is less restricted in future. If your planning on SLI (which i'll come to shortly...) go for an 780 chipset, or 790 if you fancy DDR3 ram (which is pricey, and arguably not worth it atm). If you dont need SLI consider an X38 chipset board, really good boards and good overclocks. or maybe wait a little for a P45 chipset, which also look great.

Lastly, i would say dont get two 9600gt's. yes they are fantastic cards and great in SLI, but really one 8800gts or 9800gtx will give you better performance for probably about the same cost, plus you can always SLI those up later for those stupidly high frame rates.

Let me know how you get on with a Q9450, im considering upgrading from my E8400 to one of those

Yeah the Q9450 sounds like a great chip. I'd definately recomend getting an aftermarket CPU cooler if you havent thought about that already, stock cooling isnt fantastic.

Sounds like a pretty good PC you have planned though. one final recomendation, look for a HDD with a 32 MB buffer. I have one (cant remember what make) and its a bit faster than my old 16mb, i get 5.9 in the vista score. Also you might consider setting those 2 drives up in a RAID 0 array for extra speed, but thats up to you really.

As for the lifetime of it... easily 2 years. Dont forget you can always slip in another 9800gtx for tri-SLI in a year or two. Plus the 9800gtx cards overclock quite nicely too

hehe yea had a closer look @ 9800gtx the tri sli was wot made me go for 9800gtx instead the 8800gt's

not to worried about harddrives atm i think ill b overwhelmed @ the speed already

yes i thought about extra cooling for the core as i will b overclockin it ,not straight away mine you, its going to be a 100x better than my old pc wivout any tweaking. ive been playign my games on a 1.6 duel core 128mb 1mb ram laptop for a while sick of setting everything to low + the laptops the misses comp i should really let her play wiv it my old pc is in a dark coner of my room getting dusty intill i get to run over it in my car when the new one comes
