Default Suggestions Needed For Upgrade

Hi guys, i need some suggestions of in which order I should upgrade my rig:

Current rig:
P5B Deluxe/WIFI-AP mb
C2D E6320 @ 2.8 Ghz
8600 GTS
1 Seagate HDD 320GB 7200RPM
CM 600W PSU
2Gb of Corsair Value Memory @ 800 mhz
17" monitor (1280x1024 res)
Windows XP Pro SP2

I live in Australia and been looking around the several websites and found MSY has the cheapest prices so far. I want to get a better GPU for gaming, and video editing and stuff. Now there's this problem, my PSU's AMPs on its 12v rails only (total) 36amps. Because of this I want to upgrade my PSU as well. Furthermore, I'm looking for another HDD, a faster RPM, such as velociraptor. I have a tight budget and only will upgrade one thing at a time.

For the video card, I'm currently eyeing either gtx 260(216) or gtx 275 or 4890.
Gtx 260 = $224-226
Gtx 275 = $278-279
HD 4890 = $236-259
These are the prices at the time of writing. Since my PSU's total amps only 36, I dont think getting a 260 or 275 is a wise decision for now. Should I upgrade my PSU first before getting one of these cards? However my PSU can definitely handle 4890.
Will my current CPU bottleneck any of these cards? what about if i oc'd it to 3.5ghz?

However, the WD VRaptor also around $200 and a new PSU will cost me around $200 as well.

Which should I upgrade first, and in which order should I upgrade my rig?
I'm thinking of goin for the GPU, then the HDD and lastly the PSU. Please drop some suggestions, will be really appreciated.

Regards,

Fle

Default Re: Suggestions Needed For Upgrade

A poor or weak PSU can cause a GPU damage. It also can cause the computer damage. Get a good PSU first. As to which one and where you will want to decide. Sorry I can not offer any suggestions on that because I am from U.S.A.
